Pai Trip Jan 4 -7, 2007

First of all I have to Thank my frieds Tom (Tanuki), Pia (payoon), and ton for inviting me to this trip. And also arrange every thing from booking the bus from BKK to rent the car in Chieng Mai, book the guest house and planning the whole trip.

We leave Bangkok from Nakorn Chai bus terminal at 21.30 on Jan 4, 2007. The bus was very comfortable with 32 seats have meal and light snacks. I want to stress that the bus has 2 drivers and they have many check points for the driver to sign papers and have some rest. Even though it takes few minutes but I think it's better than have no stop for driver at all.

We arrived in Chieng Mai around 6.30 am on Jan 5th. Rent a pick up truck from the Nakorn Chai Bus terminal in Chieng Mai to pricess Hotel down Town Chieng Mai. Had Break fast and pick up a rent car. Toyota Vios.

First we vist DOI SUTEP a temple on the Suthep Mountain. It is a must for all Thais who believes in Buddhist to vist Doi Suthep when they reached Chieng Mai.

Sema Leave means that it is a Royal Temple. This is an antique which is broken by the time passed.

This girl dressed in Traditional Northen Tribe of Thailand.

The time I take this picture she was
muttering with her brother that please give me some pocket money if you take picture of me so I can buy some thing for school.

But I could not catch what she was saying as she said in the Northern tone. Pia told me that the girl was looking at me and I said why ?? Pia tell me what the girl was muttered.

Leaving Chieng Mai Heading for Pai.

The First stop was Pong Narm Duead or Hot water spring near Pai. The picture above have
temperature from 95 - 99 degree Celcious. If I step my foot in I am sure you would have most tastiest pork leg in the world.

After the hot water travelled for some distance it become warm and now I can have my feet in. So relaxed.

Arrived at our guest house "River Side" around 4pm. The back of the guest house is the Pai River.

The room is not very luxurious but very comfortable.

Other huts. The price is cheaper than the one we stay. It would be too cold to stay in them and the toilet and bathrooms are shared.

Sun Rise at the view point I think at Gong Lang.

This is the bridge we passed. Just to show how scarry it is.

The sign said Conqured 1,548 Curve. The road to Pai is very tough. Most ly mountains up and down hills many sharp curves. Actually we come from other ways and have rest before we got to that sign.

Bang La-Ma view point. It's a foggy view which hardly can find in Thailand except the Northern part with cold weather.

Next destination is Thum Lord. Or Lord Cave.

Sun Set at Wat Mae Yen.

Pai airport. Very soon SGA will open flight routes from Chieng Mai to Pai. Fly by Cessna Airplane 12 seats. I wish I can own one of Cessna.

Aussie Musician. He can play many instruments.

Pai Night market near our guest house.

Mobile Hamburger resturant. The waitress is very cute. :P

One of Thai Massage. Looks dangerous for me.

Me lighting the floating Larten.

Moon at last night at Pai.

This cat love pia very much.

This is the place I would recommend all of you to go. It's called Burger house. The food taste very good and the price is very reasonable. You wouldn't imagin how much that porkchob cost.

Good Bye Pai - Jan 7th.

Bridge to Pai built in WWII.

This is not a bomb sniff dog. it's a drug sniff dog but it wanna look cool. Just learned from Pia that a bomb sniff dog never sit while he/she's on duty. If he / she find a bomb then it would sit.

Another drug sniff dog.

Rose near the toilet.
Doi Kum Temple @ Chieng mai.

Nothing last for ever. Only the truth remain.

Last meal at Chieng Mai. Suan Pak or vegitable garden. If you love to eat the vegitable I would recommend this resturant. Not the taste, not the price. But it grow it's own veggies in test tubes where there is no chemicals contaminated.

We flew back by Orient air. Arrived Bkk arround 20.30.

If I have 50M. Baht I would build a resort there at Pai and stay there for ever. I will return there one day.

Thanks to Blogger and google for the space.
